The plan

We have investigated adoption programs, considered agencies, and evaluated our budget but have not yet officially started the adoption process. Before we do, we must demonstrate that we are able to generate necessary funds and maintain financial stability. We have saved enough money to cover one-third of the anticipated fees associated with adoption but need to raise as much of the remainder, approximately $20,000, as possible. If I conduct an average of two photography sessions each week during the projected two year wait, we will meet this goal.

In theory, this seems reasonable, but I am afraid to prove theory wrong. That's one reason I have put off starting this fund-raising project for two months. After all, if it fails, our hopes may disappear. I do not want to face such disappointment. I do not want to consider that possibility that our child will never find his or her way home because we cannot provide the way.

Yes, I lack faith in myself and confidence in my abilities. I realize I must put my faith in God and my confidence in His abilities. He can provide the way. I just need to give Him the chance!

So, I am, and I can't wait to see what happens.
